1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Heuristic Studio (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree not to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ data or to the Service’s infrastructure;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by circumventing rate limits or security measures;
• Reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law;
• Use the Service to build a directly competing product by systematically copying its features or content.

3. Accounts and responsibilities

You sign in to the Service with your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of that account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly at hello@heuristicstudio.design if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

4. Intellectual property

You own your content. The evaluations, findings, annotations, and screenshots you create or upload remain yours. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you.

The Service itself — including its software, design, and branding — is owned by Heuristic Studio and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The heuristic frameworks referenced in the Service are attributed to their original authors.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated analysis is provided as a starting point for expert review and may contain errors; it is not a substitute for professional judgment. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heuristic Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars (USD $50).

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export your data before termination takes effect.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
